Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of boron exposure on reproductive health of boron workersc spouses.
Methods Questionnaires were conducted in both boron-exposure group and control group.A database was established according to the questionnaires, and the data were analyzed by Chi-Square, Fisherc Exact Test and Multivariate Unconditional Logistic Regression Analysis.
Results The prevalence of spontaneous abortion and delayed pregnancy in exposure group were all higher than those in control group.The prevalence of spontaneous abortion in exposure group and control group were 5.74% and 3.30%, respectively.As for delayed pregnancy, the number in exposure group and control group were 5.07% and 3.07%, respectively.The ratio of female to male in exposure groupcs offspring was a little lower than that in control groupcs offspring (non-significance), in the whole country and in Liaoning province.
Conclusion Boron exposure may has potential adverse effects on pregnancy outcome of boron workers' spouses.
