Abstract:
Objective To ivnestigate the effects of Se and vitamin E(VE)on the SOD/LPO values in the lymphoid organs of mices bearing tumor cells and on the proliferation of tumor cells.
Methods Forty healthy mices were chosen and randomly divided into control group, VE group, Se group and VE+Se group. After all mices were injected by abdominal cavity with tumor cells, experimental substances were used to replenish to the proper mices for 6 days.Spleen and lymph node were collected and used in determining contents of lipid perodide(LPO)and activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD).
Results Se of 1 mg/(kg°bw)and VE of 5 mg/(kg°bw)not only inhabited the proliferation of tumor cells, but also increasd SOD/LPO values in lymphoid organs of hosts bearing tumor cells, and the effect was more obvious when combination use of Se of 0.2 mg/(kg°bw)with VE of 1 mg/(kg°bw).
Conclusion The antioxidative role in the lymphoid organs of Se and VE were closely related to the immune function of the hosts.
