Abstract:
Objective To study the relation between multiple familial type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular risk factors clustering.
Methods 115 pedig rees with two orover two T2DM patients were chosen. The case-control study was carried out, which included 287 type 2 diabetes and 168 relatives with normal glucose tolerance. The statistic methods, such as Chi-square test and Binary Logistic Regression were used to study the relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular risk factors clustering.
Results The rates of risk factors clustering among case group and control group were 82.2% and 53.0% respectively. The results of Binary Logistic Regression indicated that cardiovascular risk factors clustering was a independent risk factor of T2DM, and the odds ratio was 2.201.
Conclusion Car diovascular risk factors clustering may be a main risk factors of multiple familial type 2 diabetes mellitus.
