Challenges and opportunities for integration of medication and prevention of common chronic diseases in China

Chronic diseases, being the major threat to population health in China, have aroused wide public concerns and the prevention and control of chronic diseases should not be delayed. Integration between medication and prevention is one of the best ways to control the epidemic of chronic diseases and there are both opportunities and challenges for the integration. Improving prevention and control system of chronic diseases, establishing a new type of prevention and treatment team, and promoting tiered diagnosis and treatment are important means for the integration of medication and prevention of chronic diseases.
