Study on pBR322-HBV DNA Probe Biosensor

  • A new technique that is gene probe biosensor (GPB) is capable of qualitative and quantitative DNA analysis. The new method is an automatic microelelectronic analysis system. It involves attaching a signal segment of specific gene or nucleic acid to the transducer, which can hybridize the segment (probe) with its homologous DNA and amplify and measure the pre and post hybridization changes in elecrtic signals, then converse the electric changes into mass changes of the DNA. This method is simple and specific. Its sensitivity is the same as that of PCR. In this report 12 HBV clinic specimens were examined by the GPB. The results were consistent with those of PCR.It indicates that GPB can be used in clinic examination completely. Even more, the GPB may be used in DNA homology analysis as well as in gene separation, gene diagnosis and environmental pollution detection.
