Genetic Subtyping Analysis of HIV-1 Strains in Fujian Province

Objective To investigate the epidemiology of HIV-1 in Fujian Province,in order to identify the source of HIV-1 transmission and analyze the trend of HIV-1 epideic.Methods The nuclear acids were extracted from peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)collected from 13 HIV-1 infected individuals found in Fujian,and DNA fragments(the C2-V3)region,about 782bP)of HIV-1 env gene was amplified by nested PCR,the HIV1 genetic subtypes were then assayed by heter oduplex mobility assay(HMA).Results Show that 13 samples were determined to be positive by PCR amplification,HIV-1 subtype B and E were found in Fujian.Conclusion HIV-1 subtype B and E may be dominant in Fujian Province,subtype B and E were mainly transmitted into Fujian from abroad and spreaded via sexual transmission route among populations.HMA might be a useful screening method for HIV-1 molecular epidemiological analysis.
