The Effects of the Exposure to CS2 on Serum Copper, Serum Zinc and Serum Selenium of Workers in the Viscose Rayon Factory

  • Objective To explore the relation between CS2 exposure and the trace elements of serum copper, serum zinc, serum selenium, provide the basis for the mechanism of toxicity effects of CS2 on cardiovascular system disease. Methods In filature workshop of a viscose rayon factory we selected 76 workers with age below 45 years old and touchtime to CS2 beyond 5 years as exposure group; In cotton plasm workshop of the same factory selected 33 workers who once touched CS2 but now have been kept away from CS2 more than 5 years as intervention group;and selected 23 workers who had never touched CS2 as control one,and the epidemiological cross-sectional investigation was carried out. Results SCu,SZn and S Se of exposure group were all lower than control one(P=0.001).In multivariable stepwise regression,we discovered that exposure to CS2 caused negative contributions on SCu,SZn,and SSe(partial regression coefficients β are separately -10.417,-8.9735 and-15.5098).Conclusion The results suggested CS2 exposure could reduce the levels of Scu,SZn and S Se.
