The Effects of HEPS on the Humoral and Cellular Immune Functions in Mice

  • ObjectiveTo study the effects of hericium erinaceus polysacchrides(HEPS)on the cellular and humoral immune function in mice.MethodsMice were given HEPS orally at dose 100mg/kg、200mg/kg、400mg/kg,Grifolan 100mg/kg(as positive control),the content of hemolysin was determined using colorimetric method and the effect on the reticuloendothelial system was tested with carbon clearance test in the 10th day after treatment.ResultsAt the three doses HEPS could significantly increase the production of hemolysin, the values of HC50 were increased to 119.51、144.81、120.49 respectively, and the differences(compared to the control group 70.03)were significant.(P<0.01), HEPS could also increase the function of reticuloendothelial system in mice, the values of K in carbon clearance test were increased to 0.063、0.076、0.063 respectively, the differences(compared to the control group 0.035)were significant(P<0.01).ConclusionHEPS could increase the humoral and cellular immune functions in mice.200mg/kg HEPS showed the best effect, the effect of 400mg/kg group was no better than that of 200mg/kg group.
