Antagonistic Effect of Propolis on Mutations Induced by CP, 2-AF, NaN3, DRN

  • Objective To investigate the antagonistic effects of propolis on mutations induced by cyclophosphamide et.powerful mutagens. Methods Apply Ames test to assess the antagonistic effect of propolis to mutation induced by cyclophosphamide(CP),2 Aminofluorane(2 AF),sodium azide(NaN3),Daunorubicin(DNR).Results The propolis inhibit all the mutations induced by the four kind of mutagens and have dose effect relationship.Dose of 8~200μg/plate of the propolis could inhibit mutations by the middle intensity or below(restrain rate75.0%).At dose of 1000μg/plate of propolis could strongly inhibit mutations induced by CP,2 AF,NaN3(restrain rate are 80.9%,79.7%,98.7% respectively). Conclusion Propolis could antagonize the gene mutations induced by cyclophosphamide,2 Aminofluorane, sodium azide,Daunorubicin.
