Antioxidation Defense and Selenium Metabolism of Ethanol Dependent Rats

  • Objective To approach the rat's tissue injure feature and sensitive index of ethanol dependence. Methods To form ethhanol dependent rats by using 52% Erguotou(Beijing Hongxingpai) 2.5,5.0 g/kg·weight ingestion for 6 weeks and to observe the relationship between the degree of hepatocellular injure(GPT activity increase) and antioxidation defense and selenium metabolism. Results The GPT activity of 5.0 g/kg·weight dose group was remarkably higher than that of 2.5 g/kg·weight group and control group, the defense of antioxidation and selenium content in blood, liver and brain decreased remarkably(P av <=0.01).The SOD activity in 2.5g/kg·weight group presented reversal. Conclusion The liver was the target tissue of ethanol toxic injure,LPO,GSH-Px and Se were sensitive index of alcohol's early stage toxic injure.
