Study on Relationship Between Behavior Problems and Sensory Integration of Schooled Children

  • ObjectiveTo research the relationship between behavior problems and sensory integration of children.MethodsFour hundred and nineteen children aged 6-11 from three primary schools in Taiyuan were studied using children behavior checklist(CBCL),sensory integrative schedule and environmental factors inquiry.ResultsThe score of sensory integration of children with behav ior problems was significantly higher than the nor mal children. There were six factors positively correlated with the scores of behavior sensory integration. The result of multiple regression indicated that touch excessive defense, vestibule imbalance and lacking of learning ability were remarkable factors to infect the total score of CBCL.ConclusionChildren's behavior problems and sensory integration were very close to each other.Children with bad ability of sensory integration were liable to have behavior problems. To prevent and interfere the underdevelopment of sensory integration could decease children's behavior problems.
