Toxicological Assessment on Liver Oil Pill of Shark Safety

Objective Liver oil pill of shark was collected from livers of shark.It was necessary to make the toxicological assessment.Methods Some tests of acute oral toxicity,micronucleus of born marrow cell,sperm shape abnormality in mice,Ames and thirty-day feeding were conducted in order to judge the dangers on man.Results The liver oil pill of shark belonged to actually non-toxicity,tests of micronucleus of born marrow cell,sperm shape abnormality in mice and ames were negative.The thirty-day feeding test in rats demonstrated that ithad no effects on routine blood,body weight and biochemical index,maximum non-effect dose was more than 5.00g/kg·bw and it was 100 times of man's allowance.Conclusion So liver oil pill of shark was safety for man.
