Study on Fluoride-induced DNA Damage and Antagonism of Selenium and Zinc Against Fluoride in Rats’ Brain Cell

  • Objective To investigate on DNA damage induced by fluoride in rats.brain cells as well as the joint effects of selenium and zinc against fluoride. Methods Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis was utilized to detect DNA single strand breaks of neural cells after in vivo exposure. Results The damage degree in F group,FSeZn group and SeZn group was much more serious than that in the control group(P<0.01).The Ridit value 0.364 6,0.455 7,0.527 6 was lower than control group 0.652 2 respectively. There were marked statistic differ ences between each other among the three exposure groups(P<0.01).Conclusion Either fluoride or selenium and zinc combined could induce DNA damage in brain cells of rats respectively, yet selenium and zinc presented obvious antagonism effects against fluoride jonintly.
