Study on Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes

Objective To explore the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and relationship between the psychological factors and occur rence of diabetes.Methods N inety nine new inpatients with type 2 diabetes match 1:2 were investig ated with consulting quest ionnaires about suspicious risk factors and symptoms checklist 90.Results The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that family diabetes history(OR=1.88,95% CI 1.122~3.153),smo king(OR=1.585,95% CI 1.053~2.384),liking greasy and sweet food(OR=1.362,95% CI 1.060~1.748),often eating greasy and sweet food(OR=1.347,95% CI 1.049~1.730),high proportion of waist and buttocks(OR=1 686,95% CI 1 113~2 555),often taking physical exercise(OR=0.612,95% CI 1.456~0.820)were positively related to type 2 diabetes.The results of investigating of SCL-90 showed that the prevalence of force symptom,poor relationship among people,and energetic morbid state was significantly lower,but the prevalence of anxious,terror were higher,than those in sample from people of the whole nation.Conclusion The results of study suggested that family diabetes history,smoking,liking greasy and sweet food,often eating greasy and sweet food,high proportion of waist and buttocks were risk factors for type 2 diabetes;often taking physical exercise might prevent the occurrence of type 2 diabetes;there was relationship between psychological factors and type 2 diabetes,but it couldnt be defined causality.
