Analysis on use frequency of eight kinds ultra-violet absorbents in sunscreen cosmetics

  •   Objective   To investigate the use frequency of ultra-violet absorbents in sunscreen cosmetics in China.
      Methods   Statistic analysis on the use frequency of eight kinds ultra-violet absorbents theat they were determined by RP-HPLC in 2 263 sunscreen cosmetics from 1996 to 2002.
      Results   The use frequency for 2-etheylhexyl-4-metheoxycinnamate, oxybenzone, 1-(4-tert-butylphentl)-3-(4-metheoxyphenyl)propane-1, 3-dione, 2-etheylhexyl salicylate, 2-etheylhexyl-4-dimetheyl-aminobenzoate, 3-(4'-metheylbenzylidene)-d-l-camphor, 2-phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulphonic acid and 2-hydroxy-4-metheoxybenzo-phenone-5-sulphonic acid was 67.21%, 27.53%, 14.94%, 10.78%, 6.50%, 4.82%, 4.07%, 2.12%, respectively.
      Conclusion   The ultra-violet absorbent of the maximum use frequency was 2-etheylhexyl-4-metheoxycinnamate.
