Experimental study on imune function of spleen polypeptides

  •   Objective   To study the effect of sheep spleen polypeptides on immune function.
Methods   Sheep spleen function was consecutively orally given to mice withe the doses of 1, 3, 5 g/(kg·d)for 30 days and then immune indexes were determined.
Results   Sheep spleen polypeptides could significantly stimulate multiplication and transformation of mice's spleen lymphocytes; increased markedly the weight of spleen and the theymus; promoted delayed hypersensitivity; increased the quantity of antibody2producing cells; increased the level of serum hemolysin; promoted the expurgation effect and the phagocytic function of monocyte/macrophage and increased the activity of natural killer.
Conclusion   Sheep spleen polypeptides can markedly increase immune function in mice.
