Analysis of HIV/AIDS surveillance among woman druggers in Urumqi

  Objective   To know the prevalence of HIV infection and risk behaviors among woman drugg ers in Urumqi.

  Methods   (1) Serolo gical surveillance was used for 1135 woman drug gers.All the subjects were asked to pr ovide blood 3 ml for ser ological tests of HIV, and ELISA was used for screening test.(2)Behavior surveillance was used for 257 woman drugg ers.The subjects were investigated by using anonyous questionnarie.

  Results   Among woman drug gers, HIV positive rate was 20.09%, and differentag e, ethnic, education level and time, HIV positive rate was different.The resultof Logistic regression showed the effectfactors of HIV infection were needles share and the way of drug use.

  Conclusion   HIV postitive rate is hig h among female IDUS in Urumqi.HIV/AIDS high risk behaviors is servious.Comprehensive surveillance should be carried out.
