Objective To understand health care-seeking behaviors, sexual behaviors and sexually transmitted disease(STD)related knowledge level among STDpatients of floating population in Shenzhen.
Methods Atotal of 200 patients fro man STDclinic of 10 medical institutions were investig ated with questionnaires from May to June 2005.
Results Among those surveyed STDpatients of floating population, 64% were between 21 and 30 years old, 73% were cohabit without married, 71% were underjuniormiddle school, 53% were incomes monthly under1500 yuans, 26% sought forhealth cares afterSTDsymptoms appeared, 41% select first the regularhospital, 85% had sex ual contagion without married, 62% had multiple sex ual partners, condoms were used in 26% within 3 months; 43% of theirsexual partners were notinform of possible infection, only 46% accepted to test and 21% to treat; 12% of the study significant difference in local population.
Conclusion STDpatients of floating population should be counseled and encouraged fortimely health care-seeking.Safety sexual behaviors and ex tending service of STDclinic should be strongthened.
