Contrast study on reaction time in children with attention deficithyperactivity disorder

  Objective   To ex plor e the difference of react ion time betw een attention deficithyperact ivity disorder(ADHD) children and nor mal ones, and the effecting factiors.

  Methods   70 childr en with ADHDand 70 normal children were selected to assess the v isual and auditory reaction time by using the computer reaction time test system.

  Results   ADHDchildren were compared with normal controls, and there were not obv iously differences on reaction time of visual and auditory reactio n time tests(P > 0.05);obvious differences only existed on errors rate of visual and auditory reaction time teste(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

  Conclusion   Children with ADHDdo not pr ocess visual and auditory information correctily like nor mal controls.Errors rate of visual and auditory reaction by way of specific detectio n index is used to examine children with ADHD.
