Relationship between absorption of dietary calcium and PvuⅡ or XbaⅠ polymorphism of ERα gene in childbearing-aged women

  • ObjectiveTo examine the relationship between the absorption of dietary calcium and estrogen receptor (ERα)gene restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLPs)in childbearing-aged women.MethodAfter identifying the ERαgene Pvu Ⅱ or XbaⅠRFLPs,the women were given the representative diets during the 3-day adaptation period and the 12-day metabolism period. The copy food and drinking for measurement of nutrients as well as the complete feces each day were collected.ResultsNo significant difference of the absorption of diet calcium among ERαgene RFLPs in childbearing-aged women was observed(P>0.05).ConclusionThe assumption of the regulation of estrogen had no effect on calcium absorption in human.
