Study on sexuality among female college students in Wuhan city

  • ObjectiveTo investigate the sexual behaviour of female college students.MethodFemale college students were sampled by cluster sampling and investigated by using questionnaire survey on anonymous basis.ResultsA total number of 2365 students were surveyed.It was found that 17.89% of the students had premarital sexual experience.There were statistically significant differences in the incidences of sex uality among students of different grades and courses,with the incidences being highest in advanced-grade and students of art courses.The first sexual intercourse took place out of sexual impulse or curiosity,as a means to strengthen the relation with male partner,or due to coercion.The sexual intercouses taking place within recent one year was becaused of the wish to use sex as a means to strength the relation with male partner and physical desire.The sexual partners of the first intercourse of the sexuality within recent one year were predominaltly their boyfriends.Some had more than one sexual partners.ConclusionThe incidence of sexuality is high in female college students and there exits the problem of promiscuity.
