Detection of serum p53 protein and oxidative damage in octachlorodipropyl-ether exposed population

  • Objective Serum p53 pro tein expression and ox idative damage w ere detected in population exposed to octachlo rodipropyl ether(S2).Methods 21 workers occupationally exposed to S2 were selected as exposed gr oup,and 21 workers without any exposure to chemical tox icants and other hazards served as the control group;p53 protein,MDA,and activities of SOD,GSH-Px in serum were detected in two groups. Results Serum p53 protein expression of the exposure group was significantly higher than that of the contr ol group when str at ified by working ag e;M DA of the exposure group was significantly higher than that of the control group, but the activities of SOD,GSH-Px of the exposure group were lower than those of the control group without statistical significance. Conclusion Exposure to S2 could lead to mutation of p53 gene and oxidative damages.
