Analysis on neural tube defect of perinatal infants in Zhengzhou

Objective To study the incidence,dynamic variable trend and the epidemiologyical characteristic of neural tube defects(NTDs)in Zhengzhou.Methods To analyze,the NTDs monitoring data of the fourteen participating hospitals in Zhengzhou from 1996~2004.Results The incidence of NTDs was 15.40 per 10,000,accounted for 15.31% of total birth defects.The precedence order was cleft spinabifida,anencephalus,cephalocele.The in cidence of NTDs incountry was higher than in town.Female baby's prevalence was higher than male's.Group aged 25 to 29 years was minimal birth defect The distributing showed a "u.".The case fatality rate of NTDs was 495.33 per 1,000 it was 39 times higher than the preinatal mortality rate.Conclusion Down trend of NTDs incidence was observed in Zheng zhou from 1996 to 2004.
