Effects of eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea on mouse immunity function

Objective To study the effects of eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea on mouse immunity function.Methods Chlorogenic acid and total flavone in eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea were determined by high performance liquid chromatographic method and spectrophotometric method,respectively.Mice cellular immunity function determination:test of delayed type hypersensitivity(DTH)using sheep red blood cell(SRBC)to induce mouse DTH(measuring thickenss of feet),Con Ainducing mouse spleen lymphocyte transformation experiment with MTT method.Humoral immunity function determination:the blood serum hemolysin were determined with blood congeals method;and the antibody formation cell examination with Jerne's method.Single nucleus-macrophage function determination:mouse carbon clearance test;macrophage in the mouse peritoneal cavity phagocytose the chicken red blood cell test,with half in vivo.Natural killer cell(NK cell)activiness determination:with lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)measuring method.Results Chlorogenic acid and total flavone(in rutin) in eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea were 1.20 g/100 g and 465 mg/100 g respectively.The group mouse were given the different dosage of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea in mouth after 30 days,compared with the control group.Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaf tea could increase the thickenss of swelling feet,the phagocyte chicken red blood cell activity of peritoneal macrophages,and the index of carbon clearance(P<0.05).The ratio of thymus gland/body weight and spleen/body weight,the contents of blood serum hemolysin,the transformation value of NK cell activieness in various dosage group compared with the control group,their difference didn'thave the significance(P>0.05).Conclusion Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.leaves tea could reinforce cellular immunity function and single nucleus-macrophage function of mouse and the effect of humoral immunity function were not observed.
