Investigation on outbreak ot angiostrongyliasis cantonensis in Beijing

Objective To analyse the cause of the angiostrongyliasis cantonensis which occurred in Beijing in the July of 2006,in order to discuss the prevention measures for the outbreak of verminosis induced by food.Methods The patients were investigated with a questionnaire,pomacea canaliculata samples were collected and detected by laboratory at the same term.Results 99 cases in hospital were investigated.All of them repasted in a restaurant of Beijing,96(96.97%)cases ate acetarious pomacea canaliculata.2 samples of pomacea canaliculata collected in the restaurant were detected amgiostrongylus cantonens.Conclusion The outbreak was induced by eating fresh or half-fresh pomacea canaliculata,indicating that out break of verminosis induced by food can also happen in the northland.
