Investigation on dietary nutrition of urban residents in Tianjin from 2000 to 2004

  • Objective To investig ate the dietary status of urban residents in Tianjin from 2000 to 2004.Methods Tianjin Statistical Bureau provided the food consumption data of urban r esidents and demographical data in Tianjin from 2000 to 2004.Nutrient intake and dietary pattern were calculated and analyzed by computer software.Results The consumption of animal products,fruit and vegetable was rational and the quality of protein was good in urban population.However,the intake-of grain,milk and soy was lower.The intake of vitamin A,B1,B2 and calcium was lower than recommended dietary intake level.The energy contribution from fat reached 34%~35% in urban populat ion.Conclusion There was micronutrients deficiency in urban residents of Tianjin.The energy contr ibution from fat was higher in urban population.It was necessary to scientifically guide citizen's diet,improve the dietary pattern,and meet the need of balanced diet and rational nutrition.
