Survey on risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in adolescents

Objective To conduct the status of risk factors of cardiov ascular diseases(diabetes,dyslipidemia,hy perten- sion,obesity)in adolescents in the districts of Daxing in Beijing.Methods 3 260 youth residing in whole districts were investigated and measured.Arandom sampling was used for the study.Results The incidence of hy pergly cemia was 3.8%,male account ing for 5.0% and female 2.7%.The gender differences was statistical sig nificance(P<0.01);The incidence of dyslipidemia was 10.7%,male accounting for 1.8% and female 191.7%.The gender difference was also statistical significance(P<0.01);The incidence of hypertension was 7.9%,male accounting for 8.6% and female 7.3%.The gender differences was not statistical significance(P>0.05).The difference of age group was statistical significance(P<0.01);The incidence of overweight was 71 6%,male accounting for 8.7% and female 6.5%,the incidence of obsity was 5.0%,male accounting for 5.8% and female 4.2%.The detection rate in male was higher than that in female(P<0.05).Conclusion Though the detection rate of obesity and overweight in this investigation was lower than that in the urban districts of Beijing.Great attention should be paid to health education so as to prevent and control the occurrence of obesity in youth.The intervention in Chinese children and adolescents was the most effective measures.
