Effect of different feeding ways on infants’development and growth

  • ObjectiveTo find out influence of different feeding ways on infants development and growth.MethodsIn light of feeding way during the first six months,428 healthy infants were divided into three groups:breast-feeding,breast feeding partly, and man-made one.Their weights, heights were measured at the third month, fifth month, eighth month, twelfth month, eighteenth month, two years old.HB content was measured at the sixth month, eighth month and the tenth month, two years old.ResultsFor babies aged 3 months, their weight and WAZ for group of breast feeding partly and man-made were lower than that of breast feeding group, for babies younger than 18 months and for babies aged 24 months. The height and HAZ for group of breast feeding partly were higher than that of other two groups. The probability of anemia among three groups was same.ConclusionBabies weight of breast feeding group increases faster before 5 months, the weight increases slowly after 5 months old.Baby's weight of breast feeding partly increases fast after 12 months.Baby's height with three feeding ways is same.Baby's heig ht of 18~24 months for breast feeding partly is higher than that of others. There is no obvious difference about the probability among three groups.
