Relationship between liver injury and lipid peroxidation in workers exposed to N, N-dimethylformamide

  • ObjectiveTo find out the relationship of lipid perox idation and antio xidative level with liverinjury of wor ers occopationally exposed to DMF.MethodsTo select 136 workers occupationally exposed to DMF as the exposure group and 30 healthy blood doners without any exposure to chemical tox icants and other hazards as the control group.According to the liver function, the exposure group were divided into liverinjury group and normal exposure group.According to the concentration of DMF,the normal exposure group were fur ther divided into low concentration group and high concentration group. The level of MDA and the activities GSH-Px and SOD in serum were determined in various groups.ResultsThe level of MDA and the activities of SOD in various exposure groups were signifcantly higher than that of the control group, and it was high in the liverinjury group. The GSH-Px activities in the high concentration group and liverinjury group were significantly lower than that of the control group. The GSH-Px activities in the low concentration was significantly higher than that of the control group. The level of MDA and GSH-Px activities between liverinjury group and normal exposure group had significant difference.ConclusionHigh concentration of DMF exposure could decrsease the ability to delete the reactive oxygen species and induce liverinjure. It was sense that antiox idant was used to provent and care DMF toxicosis.
