Adoldescent’s internet use and social adaptation ability

ObjectiveTo understand the effect of internet use and common social factors to adolescent's social adaptation ability.To guide the adolescent to use the internet reasonably and to improve the social adaptation ability.MethodsStudents randomly selected by stratified chuster sampling in Xuzhou city were surveyed with questionnaire.The questionnaire included the social adaptation ability,common social factors,intermet using,etc.The score of social adaptation ability were analyzed by multiple linear regression model.Results5 464 valid questionnaires were collected from junior middle school and college students.There was a significant difference of scores between male(18.35±4.38)and female(18.80±3.91)(F=15.99 P=0.000).By multiple linear regression analysis,surfing in the internet bar,internet addict disorder,internet love affairs,getting rid of bad temper by internet could whittle the social adaptation ability.Collecting information,connecting friends with E-mail,chatting could improve the social adaptation ability.Mother's high education,high family income,born in urban, singleton could improve the social adaptation ability.Born in suburb,single parent,negative living affaires would whittle the social adaptation ability.ConclusionUsing intemet under education,social support,management and supervision could improve adolescent's social adaptation ability and reduce negative effect of intemet.
