Metabolism of apigenin by rat intestinal flora

ObjectiveTo study the metabolism of apigenin in vit ro intestinal flora from rat.MethodsApigenin was added to the rat fecal flora which was solved in the artificial intestinal juice.The mixture were anaerobically incubated at 37℃,then the metabolism of apigenin was analyzed and quantified by RP-HPLC.ResultsApigenin was fast metabolized by rat intestinal flora after incubated 1 h.With the persistence of the incubation time,the speed slowed.ConclusionIn vitro,apigenin is easily metabolized by rat intestinal flora.
