Investigation on reproductive health knowledge of women at childbearing age

Objective To explore reproductive health knowledge and service in the women at childbearing age.Methods Stratified random sampling was used and a structured questionnaire survey was undertaken in women at childbearing age in Chongqing city.The situation of reproductive health knowledge and use of health care service in 2 075 women at age of 15~49 was analyzed.Results 35.2% of subjects did not know emergent contraceptive methods,18.3% had abortion experience,30.9% had no check of reproductive system within 20 months.32.7% of the subjects did not know that chancroid was STD,29% thought that cervical erosion was STD,69% thought mosquito's biting was an infection route of AIDS,79.4 had received materials of family planning/reproductive health within 2 years.Conclusion The women at childbearing age were lack of knowledge about reproductive health and AIDS.The reproductive health services should be strengthened.
