Maternal-infant pairs comparative study on the change of maternal transferred measles antibody level in infants

  • Objective To draw relative immunity policies of reducing infant measles through analyzing antibody level of comparison in maternal-infant pairs and the change in infants. Methods Newborn,3-month,6-month,8-month,9month infants who never had measles and their mothers who were resident in Yuyao,Xiangshan were collected as subjects.Their serum samples were measured by the method of EL ISA.Results The positive rate and GRM T of measles antibody in newborns were 91.0 percent and 890.18,respectively,which reduced to 4.1 percent and 4.17 till 6 months,0.8 percent and 1.59 at 8 months. There was a close correlation between maternal measles antibody level and newborns',the correlation coefficient was 0.769.Conclusion Maternal-transferred measles antibody decreased as the growth of infant. The positive rate of measles antibody is very low in 6-month and 8-month,which makes almost no protection. In order to control infant measles,it's necessary for infant to be vaccinated at 6 months and for the women's measles antibody level to be increased by vaccination at the same time.
