Influence of lifestyle on outpatient service utilization of residents in Weihai city

Objective To find out the influence of life style on outpatient service utilization.Methods Stratum-based random samping method was used to select samples of 18867 persons aged 15 and above.The subjects were interviewed with self-made questionnaire.SPSS 13.0 software package was used to analyze data with descriptive analysis,Chi-square analysis and logistic regression analysis.Results The resident's disease prevalence rate within two weeks was 8.99%,the average rate of outpatient service seeking within two weeks was 3.89%.Subjects with good lifestyle had a lower rate of outpatient service seeking within two weeks.The result of logistic regression analysis showed that the primary indexes of lifestyle affecting utilization of outpatient service were smoking sittuation and sanitary habits.Conclusion The influence of lifestyle on out patient service utilization exists obviously.It is necessary to improve lifestyle of the residents by health education and community publicity.
