Isolation,identification and purification of allergens in egg

  • Objective To isolate,identify and purify the allergens in egg.Methods The albumen was extracted from the egg and the albumen from the vitellus.The total protein of the egg was isolated by SDS-PACE.The allergens of egg were identified by Western-blotting Ion exchange chrom atography was employed to purify the allergens.Results There was no allergy element in the vitellus.The album en allergens with molecularm ass of 83kD,71 kD,38 kD and 13 kD were identified by Western-blotting.The 13 kD allergen was purified by ion exchange chromatography.Conclusion The major allergen of egg was 13 kD which is the most important in egg allergen diagnosis and treatment of egg allergy.
