Study on influence factors of maternal health care in Tibet Autonomous Region of China

Objective To investigate the status of maternal health in Tibet and to analyse the influence factors.Methods In 4 regions,15 project counties and 70 townships of Tibet,PPS was used to select study population and face to face in terview was carried out in 1513 mothers who had child renunder 3 years old.Results 83.7% of the pregnant women received at least one antenatal checkup with an average of 3.55 times and the rate of antenatal checkup over 5 times was 23.5%.14.5% of the pregnant women received antenatal checkup before 12 weeks of the pregnancy.71.2% of them were visited by doctors after the delivery.Among the women who had antennal checkup during the pregnancy,49.8% received the checkups in township hospitals,39.6% in county hospitals and 2.6% in village clinic.93.8% of the pregnant women received health education during their pregnancy.Further analys is showed that the number of antenatal checkup in women who had received the health education was 9.54 times of that in women who had not received the health education.Conclusion The maternal health cares in Tibe thas been improved,but still face the challenges.
