Correlation between children’s behavior problems,parental marriage quality and personality and coping style

Objective To explore relationships between children s behavior problems and parental marriage quality.Methods The survey was carried out among 1 200 persons(including pupils aged 6～12 and their parents) by Achenbach children with behavior problem scale,Olson marriage quality questionnaire,EPQ and simple coping style scale.Results The rate of children behavior problems was 16.4%.Every factor score of Olson marriage quality questionnaire for the group with behavior problems was lower than that of without behavior problems(P<0.01).The regression analysis showed that factors related to childrens' behavior problems were parental personality magnan mious,attitude towards offspring and marriage,personality with neurosis and psychosis,etc.Conclusion Children's behavior problems are related to their parental low marriage quality,negative coping styles and personality with neurosis.Intervention should be made to the whole family.
