Investigation on health care resources of high school

  • Objective To understand health care resources of high school and provide basis for school health supervision.Methods Retrospective questionnaire was used to survey entrants of grade 2007 in two colleges from October to November,2007.Results 290 high schools were surveyed.260 schools were run by the state and 30 by societies and enterprises.76 schools were in the countryside and 214 in town and city.85.8% of the state schools had health care teacher,which was higher than that of schools run by societies and enterprises(40.0%,P<0.01).The percentage of parttime health care teacher was 72.4% for schools in country side and 56.5% for schools in town and city(P<0.05).93.4% of the state schools had health clinic,but only 76.7% for schools run by societies and enterprises(P<0.01).The medical service ability of state schools was superior to that of schools run by societies and enterprises(P<0.05).13.3% of schools run by societies and enterprises was not engaged in health education,but only 0.4% for the state schools(P<0.01).The major means for health education were broadcast and billbo ard.Conclusion High schools were deficient in health care resources,especially those schools in country side and run by societies and enterprises.
