Effect of health education on knowledge,attitude and behavior of tuberculosis among officers and soldiers of PLA

Objective To evaluate the education effect on knowledge,attitude and behavior about tuberculosis among officers and soldiers of PLA.Methods The knowledge about tuberculosis was taught among the officers and soldiers.The information on knowledge,attitude and behavior about tuberculosis among the officers and soldiers was collected before and after the health education.The correct answer rate,score and the score distribution of tuberculosis knowledge,attitude and behavior before and after the health education were compared to evaluate the effect of education.Results There was significant improvement in the correct answer rate and the expected rate of tuberculosis knowledge,attitude and behavior after the health education(P<0.01).The score on tubercu losis knowledge,attitude and behavior was obviously miproved after the education with the tvalues of 27.93,8.33,12.17,respectively(P<0.01).The numbers and the ratio below 60 scores in tubercu losis knowledge,attitude and behavior were noticeably decreased and that of above 80 scores were obviously increased after the health education(χ²=435.68,χ²=79.99,χ²=269 67,P<0.01).Conclusion The health education about tuber culosis knowledge is significante ffective to the officers and soldiers.The education can miprove their knowledge,attitude and behavior on tuberculosis prevetion.
