Oxidative injury effect of lanthanum exposure during lactation on brain tissue of offspring rats

  • Objective To study the mechanism of oxidative injury of subchronic lanthanum exposure during lactation on off spring rats.Methods The pregnant rats were admin istrated with LaCl3 from the day of and 21 days after the parturition.Control group was supplied with distilled water.The low,mid and high dose groups were supplied with the LaCl3 solution at concentration of 0.25%,0.5% and 1.0%,respectively.Body weight,brain tissue weight,brain tissue coefficient were measured.The contents of MDA,GSH,SOD,GSH Px in the brain tissue of the off spring rats were detected.Results Compared with the control group,the body weight and brain tissue weight decreased and the contents of MDA in brain tissue of exposure group increased remarkably.The contents of GSH,SOD,GSH Px in brain tissue of the off sping rats exposed decreased sharply.Conclusion Lanthanum exposure during lactation can decrease GSH,SOD,GSH-Px in the brain tissue of off spring rats and cause lipid peroxide.
