Hidden Markov model for epidemiological study on diabetes mellitus

Objective To explore the application of hidden Markov model in the study on diabete smellitus.Methods To apply hidden Markov model in studying factors which influences the various progessive stages of type 2 diabete smellitus(DM2).Results Eleven factors including body mass index,monthly family income,a lcohol drinking,staple food,sweemtea ,thealth education,smoking,anmial fat,physical activity and life event influenced the development and prog ression of DM2(P<0.05).Conclusion For DM2 patients,controlling weight,keeping optmi istic attitude,rationally a llocating family income,less drinking,abstaining froms weemt eat,and increasing intake of staple food should be regarded as prmiary preventive measuers.
