Prevalent trend of class-A and class-B communicable diseases from 2003 to 2007 in Guangdong province

  • Objective To study the prevalent trend of class-A and class-B communicable diseases in Guangdong pro-vince and to provide reference for communicable diseases control.Methods Communicable diseases registration data of Guangdong province from 2003 to 2007 were collected and analyzed.Results From 2003 to 2007,there were 1 112 117 incidence cases of 29 kinds of class-A and class-B communicable diseases.The average incidence rate was 251.52/105 with a upward trend.Blood and sexually transmitted disease were the leading communicable diseases.The top six communicable diseases were tuberculosis with an annual incidence of 86.50/105,viral hepatitis B (annual incidence:84.35/105),gonorrhea,syphilis,AIDS (annual incidence:0.45/105) and SARS with an incidence of 1.77/105 in the epidemic of 2003,respectively.Conclusion Class-A and class-B communicable diseases are the major risk to public heath.
