Survey on STD and AIDS knowledge among floating women in Jiangsu province

Objective To investigate the knowledge status of STD and AIDS in floating women Jiangsu province.Methods The data from a questionnaire survey on life and development of floating women in Jiangsu province was analyzed for the study.Results Overall 1 582 participants were interviewed.67.8% of the participants was not clear that chancroid was STD;23.7% thought that cervical erosion was STD;59.6% thought mosquito's biting was one of routes of AIDS infecton.Only 50.7% of the participants knew AIDS differing from HIV infection.Conclusion Floating women's knowledge on STD and AIDS was not enough.More education and intervention on STDs and AIDS are needed to improve floating women's reproductive health.
