Association of Hind Ⅲ locus polymorphism in lipoprotein lipase gene with hyperlipidemia and dietary predisposition

  • Objective To explore the genotype distribution of lipoprote in lipasepolymorphism at Hind Ⅲ locus and its possible association with serum lipid level, body mass index(BMI)and dietary in take. Methods The Hind Ⅲ polymor-phism was determined by PCR-PFL P method in 156 adults with hyperlip idem ia and 154 adults w ith norm al serum lip id levels in Shanghai.Data of physical examinations, dietary investigation and the levels of serumlipid profile were analyzed for the subjects. Results There was no significant difference in the frequencies of genotypes or allele between the hyperlipidemia and the control, and between male and female. The levels of serumlipid profile and BMI were not signif icantly different between H+H+ and non-H+H+ genotype groups. The survey of dietary indicated that indissoluble fiber intake differed among the hype rlipidemia with different genotypes. Conclusion The subjects with non-H+H+had a higher indissoluble fiber in take. While the gene polymorphismat LPL-Hind Ⅲ locus is not indispensable to the genetic risk in hyperlipi-demia subjects.
