Use of tuberculois control institution service among tuberculsis patients in floating population and its influencing factors

ObjectiveTo understand the utilization and its influencing factors of the tubercu losis(TB)control institution service among tuberculosis patients in floating population in Shandong province.MethodsA total of 314 pulmonary tuberculosis patients in floating population from twelve districts of Shandong province were randomly chosen with stratified-cluster sampling method and were investigated with self-made questionnaire from July to September 2008.The data was analyzed with SPSS1610.ResultsOnly 18.5% of 314 patients chose TB prevention and control institution for the ir first-time consultancy.But 74.8% of them were dignosed by the TB prevention and control instiutions.The total family income (OR>1),number of household menber(OR<1)and the time required from the place of residence to the nearest hospital (OR<1)were the main influencing factors for the use of the service of TB control in stitution.ConclusionIt is necessary to carry out public health education about TB among TB patients in floating population.Measures such as free sputum examination and medical examination should be implemented.
