Analysis of reward for village doctors engaged in tuberculosis control in Shandong province

  • ObjectiveTo learn and evaluate the status of reward for village doctors engaged in tubercu losis control.MethodsThe sample was randomly chosen with cluste-rbased sampling method and the subjects were interviewed with a self-made questionnaire.ResultsVillage doctors received averagely supervision awards of 13.50 Yuan and management awards of 27.02 Yuan for management of one tube rculosis patient from 2006.1419 percent of the village doctors reported dissa tisfaction with the incentive policy.19.6% percent of the village doctors considered that the supervision reward was low,and 18.8% considered that the management reward was low.56.7 percent of the village doctors considered that they should be paid according to their workload.ConclusionVillage doctors' pactual reward is much lower than the expected.Village doctorsp reward expected is far fromactual reward and the reward by the state.The reward level for village doctors angaged in tuberculosis control is low.
