Computer use and cervical-lumbar spondylosis in college students visiting internet bar

  • ObjectiveTo investigate the status of computeruse and the prevalence of cervical-lumbar spondylosis in college students visiting internet bar.MethodsAquestionnaire survey on computer use and cervical-lumbar spondylosis was carried out in 465 college students visiting in ternet bar.The SPSS 11.5 software was used to analyze the data.ResultsThe rate of using computer more than 4 times per week was 18.1% and daily time of computer use was 1.95±1.48 hours among the students.There were significant differences in the frequency and daily time for computeruse between boys and girls.The number of cervical and/or lumbar spondylosis patients was 47(10.1%)among the students.Logistic regression results showed that the risk factors related to cervical-lumbar spondy losis were the number of year of computer use,reasonable arrangement of computer set, and heredity factor.ConclusionThe prevalence of cervical-lumbar spondy losis in college students often visiting internet bar is higher than that of general students.Factors related to cervical-lumbar spondy losis are totaly ear and daily time of computer use,and the arrangement of computer set.
