Plasma lipid and prevalence of hyperlipidaemia in Uygur ethnic

Objective To analyze the lipid metabolism parameters in Uygur and to find the rule of lipid change and the preva lence of hyperlipidaemia in Uygur ethnic of Xinjiang.Methods The blood samples were collected from January to May 2006 in 400 Uigurs aged 20 to 70 years.The contents of triglyce ride(TG),total choles terol(TC),high densitylip oprotein(HDL),and lowdensity lipoprote in(LDL)were detected.Results With the growing of age,the TC,TG,LDL of the subjects inc reased and HDL decreased.The detection rates of typeⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ hyperlip idaemia were 26.3%,40.5%, 16.3%,and 0.8%(P<0.05).Male subjects had higher contents than women in TG and LDL(P<0.05).Conclusion Hyperlip idaemia increases with the age among Uygu radults and there is agender difference in hyperlipidaemia prevalence.
