Prevalence of hyperten sion and diabetes complication among people with enterprise medical insurance pension

Objective To investigate epidem iologicfeature of chronic disease among thepeoplewith enterprisemedical insurance pension in Dalian and to provide scientific evidence for medical care assurance and chronic disease control.Methods A total of 13691 people with enterprise medical insurance were investigated with random sampling and their health exam ination datawere analyzedw ith SPSS 11.5.Results Of the subjects, 79.7% had hypertension; 47.4% had diabetes; 30.5% had both hypertension and diabetes.Theprevalences of coronary heart disease, stroke, and retinopathywere increased with age Younger subjects had higherprevalence of kidney disease.The female subjects had a higherprevalences of coronary heart disease (83.9%)and retinopathy (79.4%).The prevalence of stroke was higher in the male subjects.Conclusion The prevalence of coronary heart disease, stroke and retinopathy should be controled in the old people and the prevalence of kidney disease in younger people.Also, more attention should be paid for coronary heart disease and retinopathy in the female, and the stroke in the male.
