Effect assessment of standardization management for hyperten sion in community of Huai’an city

  • Objective To assess the effect of standardization management for hypertension in the communities of Huai'an city.Methods A total of 17 559 cases of hypertension were screened andm anaged according to the unifoun protocolby trained physician.Results After a standardization management, the average systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure decreased by 16.56 mmHg and 8.97 mmHg, respectively.The awareness, treahnent, blood pressure control, and medication control rate of hypertension increased from 83.53%,66.2%,3.93%,and 4.42% to 100%,99%,38.73%,and 41.81% with statistical significant differences (P<0.01),respectively.The proportion of level 2 and level 3 of hypertension dropped from 50.01% to 10.94%.By repeated measure analysis in 2 822 cases, the average blood pressure showed a down trend with more frequentm anagement.Conclusion The study reslults indicate that the standardization management in community for hypertension cases is an effective way to modify unhealthy lifestyle, enhance medication compliance and control of blood pressure, and reduce complications among community hypertensive population.
